Dundee United vs Dundee is the third best derby in Scottish football, both clubs are located in Dundee hence the names. This tie might not be as popular a derby like Celtic vs Rangers but it does give football fans a really good match to watch as the fans and players really show their passion for the match and this gives a good derby feeling for the city of Dundee. Both stadiums are extremely close to one another, making it the closest league grounds in Britain so it will feel like a home match for both clubs.

·         The longest unbeaten run in all matches is 13, held by United, this was between December 1979 and September 1983, 11 of these were Wins.
·         The longest unbeaten run in home matches is held by Dundee when United failed to beat them for 14 games between November 1925 and August 1962.
·         The longest unbeaten run in away matches is held by United with a 12 match run at Dens Park between April 1963 and April 1971 which included 8 victories.
·         The longest unbroken winning run in all matches belongs to United with 7 between March 1988 and April 1989.
·         The longest unbroken winning run at home belongs to United with 6 between September 1974 and September 1981.
·         The longest unbroken winning run away from home belongs to United who scored 8 consecutive victories at Dens Park between December 1980 and November 1984.
·         The record home victory in a league match is 5–0 recorded by Dundee at Dens Park in August 1926
·         The record away victory in a league match is 5–0 recorded by United at Dens Park in September 1965.
·         The highest scoring match was in September 1971 when Dundee won 6–4 at Dens Park.
·         Paul Sturrock of United holds the mark for the most derby goals with 14, 2 of these came in United's 3–0 League Cup Final win over Dundee at Dens Park in December 1980.

The most recent Dundee derby between Dundee United and Dundee took place on the 1st of January 2015 with Tannadice hosting the match. This was a New Year’s Day derby that Dundee fans will want to forget as the match finished 6-2 to Dundee United. Dundee United opened the scoring in the first minute with the goal coming from Stuart Armstrong, Dundee then equalized on the 24th minute with a great free kick coming from Gregg Stewart. However Dundee’s hopes for a win came to crashing down as Gary Mackay Steven scored a wonder goal on the 27th minute to put united back ahead. Chris Erskine got on the score sheet then shortly afterwards Gary Mackay Steven got his second just before half time. In the second half Jaroslaw Fojut got the fifth goal for united then young Charlie Telfer added the sixth. Dundee then got a last minute consolation goal through Luka Tankulic.  Overall Dundee United dominated this derby and the result proves this, it was a huge win for United as they push to get into a European spot in the league and getting a huge derby win will boost their confidence to go on and do so.


The next Dundee derby will take place on the 8th of April 2015 with Dens Park hosting the match. this match again will be crucial for both clubs as united will want to push on and guarantee a European spot whereas Dundee are hoping to finish in the top six in the league.

Hearts vs Hibernian

Hearts vs Hibs is the second best derby in Scottish football, both clubs are located in Edinburgh and have history together which makes the game even more special when then they play each other. Both set of fans have complete passion and love for their club as they want their team to be the best in the city. The atmosphere at Edinburgh derby’s can be electrifying which raises the profile of the game and grabs the attention across of Britain. The games themselves can be very entertaining to watch as bad tackles and fights can happen at any time during an Edinburgh derby. Both teams know what a win would mean to the fans and the pride they would take away from the game. 

The most recent Edinburgh derby between Hearts and Hibernian took place on the 3rd of January 2015. The match ended 1-1 with Hibs taking the lead through Jason Cummings but shortly later Jamie Walker equalized for hearts. The official attendance for the match was 17,279. This is a great turn out for a Scottish Championship match as some would believe being in the second division of Scottish football is embarrassing for big clubs such as Hearts and Hibs. However the loyal fans will not turn their back on the club they love and will help the clubs to get back where they belong in the top flight of Scottish football.
The next Edinburgh derby will take place on the 12th of April 2015 and will be played at Easter Road. This match could be a must win for Hibernian as they push to get promoted back into the Scottish Premiership.  while Hearts look certain to win the league

Celtic vs Rangers is the best derby match that the wonderful game of football has to offer. The derby itself is the one that most people look forward to as both clubs have so much history together. The matches themselves are great to watch as a football fan. Both teams and fans take this on as more than a football match even with three points on the line both teams are playing for the pride of their club. The matches can get heated quickly due to the value and pressure of the match and the divide of Glasgow give the matches something extra special. The atmosphere at old firm matches are the best in the world as you can feel the emotion and passion that both fans give to their team and this can encourage the teams to go on and win the game. The most recent old firm game was on the 1st of February 2015, the game was played in Hampden park as it was a Scottish league cup semi final. Celtic won the game 2-0  goals coming from Leigh Griffiths and Kris Commons. This match was first old firm match since April 2012 and it turned out to be a comfortable win for Celtic as they had dominated the full game.
